Hoist Trolley

We got really busy so I haven’t had time to work on the shop until today. I finished cutting and drilling the steel for the hoist trolley. This allows the hoist/winch to roll back and forth on the I-beam we have over our outside work area.

At the moment the wheel brackets are only “tack welded” (tiny weld that can be removed if needed). I tested it and it rolls fine so tomorrow I’ll take it down and finish the welding.

After all the welding is finished and any lumps ground down flat, it will be cleaned and painted.

Then, finally, we’ll have a functional hoist which is good because there is a 375 kg milling machine sitting on the ground that needs to be moved up into the workshop.

  1. Jerry I”ll never forget the day when you first wrote me about the hoist. It was the same as if somebody invited me to fly to Mars for a weekend. It was such a usual device for you and not an understandable thing for me…..
“No panic ” didnt help first. Then you draw a picture and explained me how it worked .
    Thank you ,my teacher !
